Gas chamber (flaming sambuca): AlCapones bar

Hey, this looks cool, isn`t itt? It is a drink called gas chamber or flaming sambuca. The point is somebody takes a shot of Sambuca into the mouth and someone else lights it. Pouring the cinnamon to the mounth makes these stars. The flame is extinguished by closing the mouth. This is very popular drink of some of my friends, however I have to admit I have never tried that ...

Wenders at LGP: Hradec Králové, Czech Republic

Leica Gallery in the train. They are currently going around the Czech Republic with the exhibition The Million Dollar Hotel and Buena Vista Social Club. The photographs of Win Wenders and his wife Donata. First part is about the Cuba and pictures taken during the shooting of document Buena Vista Social Club. The second part is also about the film shooting, this time movie called The Million Dollar Hotel.

Leica Gallery Prague was originally located at one of the best location in Prague - Prague castle. However with the new president the rent was increase and they refuse to pay that. Big movement started in local photographers community to save the Leica Gallery. But what should I say ... Leica is commercial company and they do charge for their products. The same Prague castle asked for the space there. And because LGP refused to pay, they had to go. Finally, I do not think that idea with the train is bad. The exhibitions can be seen now in various cities and people who like it will always find the way there.

Frank Zappa statue: Vilnius, Lithuania

I`ve been in Vilnius for business meeting and as I had a one free day I made a walk around the city center. One of the things I heard of was the only Frank Zappa statue in the world. In Vilnius ... strange enough? Zappa had never been there, had no relation to Lithuania. Just couple of crazy people decided to build him a monument. So they did. Here is the full story ...

The Zappa`s bust was also a trigger for Uzupis, the Republic of Angels. Same people formed this independent "state" in the heart of Vilnius, comprises only 148 acres and around 120 residents. This small district, full of small art shops and galleries, has its own flag, president, constitution, and even an army of 12 men ...

And as it was raining most of the day, I decided to stop by at formal KGB headquorters in Vilnius, now the Museum of Genocide Victims. I have to say it was very interesting, but very sad. It does not make sence to write about it, something like this you need to see your own.
